ZERO SHADES OF GREY

Cross Drawing1

First off I would like to clear the air that by no way shape or form do I want to give any shout out, publicity, or any credit to the controversial book I am writing in retrospect.  I do believe, however, that it gives light to the title of this post.

Most important to take away from what I am saying:  There is only BLACK AND WHITE, THERE IS NO GREY!

What do I mean by that?

Look at the world in which we live.  Over the past several years it has become the motto of the masses:”Do whatever feels good”, “It’s OK as long as it makes you happy”, “YOLO”, yeah…”You Only Live Once!”  I mean how lame is that, not to mention the fact that these middle age folk running around wearing this on a t-shirt that is normally way too tie-died for their own good.

So the Bible is pretty straight forward when it comes to Black and White.  There is only Black and White! (Unless of course you have the red letter edition.  Don’t lie, one of you was thinking that!)  There is only Right and Wrong.  There is only Good and Evil.  This is not to be confused with the notion of the ying-yang because the a fore mentioned are 100% separate from each other.  There is no Good in Evil, there is no Right in Wrong, THERE IS NO GREY!

God is a pretty cool dude!  He dotted his I’s and crossed his T’s when he set out the be the author of the best “how to” book.  God took all the guess work out.  He laid it all out and he answered all the questions that we need to have the answers to.

Exodus 20

New International Version (NIV)

The Ten Commandments

20 And God spoke all these words:

2 “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.

3 “You shall have no other gods before[a] me.

4 “You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God,punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.

7 “You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.

8 “Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

12 “Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.

13 “You shall not murder.

14 “You shall not commit adultery.

15 “You shall not steal.

16 “You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.

17 “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”

God gave us rules to live by.  PERIOD! Not only did he give them to us but he tells us to follow them!

There have been too many times I have heard people make the statement that “Hey, to each their own”.  That is the most garbage filled statement.  It is a statement that shows that satan is alive and doing his work.  It shows that slowly satan is winning small battles at a time, over running the morality of this nations saying “hey man I don’t care as long as I don’t have to be a part of it”.  It shows that satan is taking away their courage, there strength, their fear in God, and replacing it indecisiveness, weakness, and false truths that all lead to emptiness!  Saying “Hey, to each their own” is anarchy.  What if someone was to get up, knock you up side your head, steal your money, your wife and kids, all that you had.  And as that person was walking away he said “Hey, to each their own right?”

Think about that for a bit……

TO BE CONTINUED…….

    • “Word”! It is always clear but not always easy….YES AMEN!!!! Its just that we often times cant see it or hear it because of our own scales on our eyes. Lets just pray that God gives us the same result from those scales that he did for Paul! Thank you so much for your words!

  3. I’m not going to mention the name of the book you allude to in your title, but it blows my mind how many Christian woman are (rightly) anti-porn, but they think reading books about people having sex is perfectly fine in God’s eyes!

    • I think that we as Christians are at most times our own worst enemies. We a lot of times fight each other instead of fighting the enemy. Though these worldly things can be very tempting we have to remember we are not of this world, and the things of this world will never satisfy And that can be true about a multitude of things..

  4. Michael–This is absolutely true–so glad you put hands to keyboard and shared the truth!! We need more men like you who knows how to fun with his family and friends but also knows what is right and true and not afraid to say it.!

  5. Amen and Amen. No I haven’t read Shades of Gray and I won’t. You hit the nail on the head. Thank you for standing up for Jesus! So proud of you! I have found blogging is changing my heart and my life to know what is truly important.
